Hi-Fi Rush

Last year’s surprise Xbox-exclusive Hi-Fi Rush has long been rumored to come to PlayStation, and we now know when it’s happening. After Phil Spencer refused to name the four games Xbox is porting to other platforms, many reports have pointed to Tango Gameworks’ action game coming to PS5 soon, and soon it shall be with it releasing on March 18.

That’s according to an unlisted promotional trailer for the game published on Bethesda’s Latin America channel. The video was deleted soon after it was unearthed by fans on social media, but the damage had already been done. The video's description (transcribed via DeepL) reads:

"Chai and his team are on tour, and soon they'll be stepping onto a whole new stage: charge up your DualSense™ controller and turn up the volume because.... Hi-Fi RUSH is coming to PlayStation®5 on March 19!"

An official announcement is still not live at the time of publishing, although we wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft published the trailer on its channels following the leak. The PS5 version of the game will include content from the Arcade Challenge update with two new game modes: "TEMPO A TOPE" and "Tower Assault".

The timing of the leak couldn't be funnier, arriving mere hours after the Nintendo Partner Direct where Pentiment and Grounded were confirmed to be releasing on the handheld. This makes Sea of Thieves the only game on the list of rumored games that hasn't officially been announced for a port. Of course, the game's official social media handle has already teased its arrival on other consoles.

Pre-orders for Hi-Fi Rush on PS5 begin at 7 pm EST on February 22, so it looks like the leak was published one day before the official announcement. In many ways, PS5 seems to be the ideal console to play the game on thanks to the DualSense controller's features. For a game that relies on music beats and precise timing, the DualSense controller's haptic feedback would be a perfect match made in gaming heaven.
