Most surfers, at one time or another, have dreamed of surfing some of the world's best waves. Most "places to surf one day" lists usually read like a surf spot "who's who" of Hawaii, Indo, and Tahiti.

But there's a lot of weird waves out there with a following of their own. Even some pros love them, Dylan Graves and Ben Gravy, who both have a fascination with less traditional waves.

Graves has chased weird waves in France, Montana, and Indo. Gravy's scored his fair share of strange surf, like shin-high bombs on Lake Geneva and Germany's longest wave. Those guys might get a couple of ideas from the list below.

Nomadago Travel posted the list above and captioned it:

"Riding the World's Wildest Waves: We’ve made a list of the 5 Most Unusual Surf Spots on Earth!"

Munich River (Eisbach), Germany: This river wave in the middle of Munich is a favorite among river surfers. The wave is formed by a man-made construction under the water and is surfable all year round.

Surfer's tip: Visit during Oktoberfest like Mick Fanning.

Lake Michigan, USA: Lake surfing is quite rare. The waves here are formed by the wind, similar to ocean waves, but can be less predictable.

Surfer's tip: Bring a really, really good wetsuit.

Severn Bore, UK: This is a tidal bore, where incoming tide forms waves that travel against the river's current. The Severn Bore is one of the most famous unusual surfing spots in the world and can create long, rideable waves.

Surfer's tip: Bring a board that's at least an 8'0.

Skeleton Coast, Namibia: Known for its shipwrecks, desert backdrop, and dense fogs, the Skeleton Coast offers powerful and uncrowded waves. However, it's remote and can be dangerous due to strong currents and wildlife.

Surfer's tip: Base you trip on the surf report. Skeleton Bay slept for four years.

Busua Beach, Ghana: This is an emerging surf spot in West Africa. The waves here are generally gentler, making it great for beginners."

Surfer's tip: You can rent boards there.
