Hannah Waddingham Stuns in Shiny Off-The-Shoulder Red Gown With Daring Slit at SAG Awards

Hannah Waddingham stunned on the red carpet as she arrived at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles to attend the 2024 SAG Awards on Sat., Feb. 24.

Photos taken of the actress’ red carpet arrival showed her wearing a shiny red gown. The strapless dress featured a small train and a slit that reached high above her left knee.

In addition to raving about her gorgeous dress while chatting on the red carpet, Waddingham also pointed out her clutch, which she said her young daughter had made for her.

“My daughter wanted to contribute, so she’s made me a bag,” Waddingham said. The cardboard clutch had the word "epic" written on one section and featured several bold strips of color, which appeared to have been drawn on using crayons or markers.

Waddingham, 49, is one of this year’s SAG Awards nominees. She is also expected to be a presenter at the show, which is streaming live on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET.

Waddington is one of five actresses nominated in the 30th annual SAG Awards’ Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category. She has been nominated for playing the English football team owner Rebecca Welton on the Apple TV+ comedy series Ted Lasso.

The other nominees in her category are: Quinta Brunson for Abbott Elementary, Ayo Edebiri for The Bear, and both Alex Borstein and Rachel Brosnahan for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Waddingham became a fan-favorite on Ted Lasso, which ended its three-season run in 2023.

The show picked up other SAG Award nominations this year, including Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Jason Sudeikis, who plays the title character, was nominated for an Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series award. Brett Goldstein, whose character begins as a player on Sudeikis’ team and later becomes an assistant coach, was nominated in the same category as Sudeikis.

Fans recently saw Waddingham onstage at the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards, which were held on Feb. 18 at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Waddingham sang Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” for the British award show’s In Memoriam section. Pianist Joe Stilgoe, who accompanied her onstage, described the performance as "a fitting tribute we hope to the truly great actors who we lost last year.”
