One of the most exciting updates of the 2024 mountain bike season is the emergence of the Gowaan Collective.

Despite being dealt the crummy hand of losing sponsors in an industry-wide downturn, Bex Baraona and Martha Gill took matters into their own hands and started not one but two teams. See the Gowaan Collective’s highlights from Crankworx Rotorua below.

In this video, Martha Gill and Jayden Fleming reflected on their performances at Crankworx Rotorua. The Gowaan Collective is the arm of the brand focused on competing at Crankworx. Gowaan Racing will take on the World Cup.

The Gowaan Collective had an impressive show at their first major event. Gill won both the Air DH and the Dual Slalom.

Additionally, she managed a third in the Speed and Style and a fifth in the Downhill. Fleming also managed a top 10 in the speed and style as well despite a crash.

Gowaan being able to market themselves on their own through a web series is a great new development in the sport of mountain biking. Despite losing sponsors, the team is able to exist thanks to the decreased barriers the internet provides.
