Gold Gianvito Rossi Stilettos Give Dakota Fanning a Timeless Look on ‘Jimmy Fallon’

Dakota Fanning slipped on a pair of Gianvito Rossi heels for her appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday night in New York City. The actress wore the brand’s Ribbon Stiletto heels in the shade “Gold.”

The star chose to wear the classic heel silhouette, a shoe both timeless and trendy in gold leather, to promote her new Netflix series “Ripley.”

About the shoes

The Gianvito Rossi Ribbon Stiletto is a timeless sandal silhouette with a square toe and stiletto heel. The shoe features the iconic Ribbon buckle, a brand signature known for the Gianvito Rossi initials on the strap’s upper buckle. The heels, seen on Fanning in gold, are 100% veal leather and are handmade in Italy.  Gianvito Rossi founded the company in Milan in 2006 and has maintained the philosophy that every shoe should be artisan-crafted locally.

Stiletto heels

The stiletto heel shoe typically features a lift of 3 or more inches and has been a staple in women’s fashion for decades. The stiletto, named for a short dagger of the Italian Renaissance period, first appeared in the 1930s. Roger Vivier’s designs for Christian Dior popularized the shoe in the 1950s. Brands of all sizes and price ranges carry a version of the shoe, from Sam Edelman to Dolce Vita and, of course, Gianvito Rossi.

Based on her past red carpet and talk show appearances, the “Ripley” actress is clearly a fan of a high-heeled sandal. In March 2023 at the Hollywood Reporter Power Stylists Dinner, Fanning was seen wearing Jimmy Choo Minny Sandals. The gold sandals featured an ankle strap and stiletto heel. Similarly, in February 2020, Fanning sported a pair of Alexander Wang crystal-detailed black pumps to the launch of The Webster in Los Angeles.
