Filmmaker Describes Encounter With Jellyfish as ‘Beautifully Terrifying'

Are you a fan of swimming in the ocean? Many people are not because of all the creatures that live there...especially sharks. But when I go in the ocean the animal I'm most afraid of encountering is a stinging jellyfish. @National Geographic TV shared a video on Monday, September 11th of filmmaker @bertiegregory talking about his encounter with jellyfish, and you have to see it to believe it!

The video starts with the filmmaker talking about filming an elusive ray known as the devil ray. While waiting for it to make its appearance, out of the blue comes a huge wall of bowling ball sized orange stinging jellyfish! He goes on to say it was like a "jellyfish invasion", and describes the experience as "beautifully terrifying" because he was afraid that they'd sting him!

My favorite part was when @bertiegregory says it was like being in a really bizarre computer game. I can see why! It would be so scary to get up close and personal with these beautiful jellyfish, but what a once in a lifetime experience!

@National Geographic TV always shares the coolest videos, and this is one of my favorites. Seeing what lives deep in the ocean is like visiting another world, and it's a world I'd love to live in. Before kids, my husband and I were avid scuba divers, and one time a huge (thousands!) school of fish surrounded us, and it was just an incredible experience. I didn't want to get out of the water!

There weren't many comments about the video, but those who commented are excited to watch this episode on Disney+...I know I'll be watching!
