Elk Take Over Neighborhood Lawns in Colorado and It’s a Sight To Behold

If you live in area where there's a lot of wildlife, you're probably used to seeing occasional deer, raccoons, and maybe even an occasional bear meander through your yard. In Estes Park, Colorado they're used to seeing elk in their yards, but not an entire herd taking over the neighborhood! That recently happened there, and @Seth Powell of Colorado Adventure Videos shared a video with us in late October 2023.

The video starts with a focus on a male elk with huge antlers lying on the lawn. He's surrounded by other elk, and Seth continues to record as he drives his car down the street. In front of every house is more elk. There has to be at least 50 of them!

Isn't that just crazy?! That male is huge, and those antlers are something to see! Could you imagine having to leave the house to get to work and finding just one elk in your yard, let alone finding your yard surrounded with elk? I don't think I'd leave until they did!

Commenters left more than 12 thousand comments. People had a lot to say about the elk herd taking over the neighborhood. At the beginning of the video, @Seth wrote, "You open your front door and see this. What would you do?" @chattycathie63 replied, "What would I do? I would thank God for allowing me to live in a place that this would be my life! How absolutely perfect would that be? WOW"! @litocean said, "They must feel safe there. That’s beautiful". @bobbieh53 shared, "Sit down and enjoy nature at its finest."

Others said that this is a pretty common occurrence in that area of Colorado. And of course, there were a few people who said they'd want to hunt them, but overall, everybody would enjoy the scene and be thankful to have witnessed it. What an amazing sight to see! Thanks to Seth for sharing it with us.
