Dog Mom Shares Easy Recipe for 3-Ingredient Homemade Pup Ice Cream

Spring is finally (almost!) here, and I know that my family is ready for the warm weather and longer days that come with it. We spend a lot of time outside soaking up the sun, and there's nothing better on those days than enjoying an ice cream treat outside.

Three Rescue Bullbreeds shared a video on Sunday, March 10th of her dog Derek - who they're missing terribly after he passed away last year - and friends chowing down on some ice cream.  It shows their three fur babies each enjoying homemade ice cream for dogs that their mom made, and I gotta say, it sounds really yummy! Based on their reactions to the treat, I think it's safe to say it's also dog approved!

While Three Rescue Bullbreeds didn't share the recipe in the video, I was happy to see that commenter @Sarah asked about it, "How do you make this please!" Dog mom replied with, "I used Greek yogurt, honey and fruit, you have to defrost it a little - at first it's more like ice than soft." Super simple, you can put whatever fruits your dog likes into it, and you could actually share it with your pup!

Other Yummy Homemade Ideas for Your Pooch

I think making homemade treats and even the occasional special meal for your pooch is a super smart idea. You know exactly what they're being fed and can tweak the recipes to suit your dog's tastes. And if your dog has allergies or a sensitive tummy, you can feed them foods that won't aggravate them. We recently adopted a rescued puppy, and I've been putting together a Pinterest board of different recipes I'd like to try, and this is one of them! If it looks too messy, check out these cute 'pawpsicles' which I'm adding to my list as well.

Another recipe that I found recently is for a homemade pizza for dogs that's topped with veggies and is super healthy. Watch the video and you'll be amazed at how patient the dog is as she waits for her gourmet pie!

Spring is almost here but not quiet, so soup is still making the rounds for dinner. This recipe for dog-friendly homemade chicken soup is a recipe that I love because you can make it and freeze some of it for later. You can even make your own homemade dog food, too!

Does your dog have stinky breath? Ours is just a puppy and there's nothing better than puppy breath, but when she gets older, I'll definitely be making and keeping these 4-ingredient doggy breath mints on hand. I can't wait to find more recipes because I know she'll like all of these!
