Having difficulty sleeping? Drink this Indian ginseng tonic for a good night's sleep

“Full Coverage With Dana Oliver” is a video series that follows Yahoo Beauty Director Dana Oliver as she takes us with her to the hottest events, tries the latest products on the market, and shares her exclusive picks for the very best beauty buys out there!

Because of the constant urge to scroll endlessly through my Instagram feed or watch hilarious viral videos that my friends and I share in a group text, my sleep pattern is all over the place. I’m super lucky if I get six out of the recommended eight hours. And on those evenings when I do manage to climb into bed early, anxiety just won’t allow my mind to stop wandering.

Desperate to try almost anything to get a good night’s sleep, I ventured over to CAP Beauty, New York City’s natural beauty destination, to learn how to make a deep-sleep tonic. Aesthetician Cara Peloso pulled a selection of ingredients straight from the boutique’s well-lit shelves, such ashwagandha (aka Indian ginseng) and turmeric, which help to minimize stress and reduce inflammation (two important things necessary to get some zzzs).

Watch the video above to learn how to make this sleep tonic, as well as CAP Beauty’s ultimate beauty elixir for lustrous hair, radiant skin, and strong nails.
