'Depressed' German Shepherd Waits All Day for 'Favorite Little Human' to Come Home
You are your dog's entire world... or at least that's what it feels like sometimes. Dogs love their humans, especially a German Shepherd named Zeus who gets pretty blue when his human is away at school.
A video taken by Zeus' owners shows the dog looking down in the dumps while his human sibling was off learning.
The two clearly have an extra special connection. The video shows the German Shepherd laying on the ground just waiting for the minute that it was time to pick the boy up.

"Sometimes I wonder if he's attached to his human because his entire life revolves around him," his owner wrote in the onscreen caption. "When he's gone it seems like he's miserable and sad," they added.
But then the owner recalled that German Shepherds are "a herding breed." "He thinks it's his job to protect and watch over the young," they pointed out. The only thing that makes him happy is to go get his human at 3:30. Now that's devotion! Nothing will stop him from getting to "his human."
Are German Shepherds Good Family Dogs?
The owner pointed out that some believe that German Shepherds aren't family dogs. But this video proves that this isn't true. "The truth is Zeus loves his family more than anything. And his temperament is amazing with everyone," they wrote.
This reputation is probably because German Shepherds are athletic, brave, and protective dogs. They've also historically been used as service or guard dogs, and have a certain "aloofness" that doesn't really allow them to have immediate intimate relationships. But they aren't mean or aggressive by nature. In fact German Shepherds are loving and loyal dogs who are good with children.
Aggression in dogs typically arises if they're left along for too long, if they're bored, aren't getting enough exercise, or aren't properly trained. If you're able to observe your German Shepherd puppy with its mother and in its litter it might give you a clue as to its future temperament and behavior.
German Shepherds like their humans so much that they crave their companionship. They can even get separation anxiety when left alone too long. Like any large dog, you will want to keep an eye on them when they're playing with your kids. But for the most part they're great family dogs.
