The Costco Bakery Just Added a Creamy New Dessert & This Expert Says It's 'One of The Best I've Had'
Craving a traditional Spanish delicacy? Costco’s got you covered! The wholesale retailer just added a creamy Spanish dessert to its lineup, and it’s actually so good.
According to Instagram user @costcohotfinds, run by Laura Jayne Lamb, Costco is now selling flan! This is not a drill — the melt-in-your-mouth baked custard with caramel dish is available pre-made in the cold section of Costco’s bakery section.

“🍮 Flan at Costco!!!” Lamb captioned a post. “This flan is huge – 3lbs and I bet could be cut into at least 16 pieces.” Perfect for any upcoming parties!
“It’s so good!!!” Lamb added.
In the video, she says, “This is the first time I’ve ever seen flan in the Costco Bakery in Texas, so I’m hoping it’s nationwide.” After trying it, she says, “It is fantastic. It’s soft, light, creamy, and one of the best I’ve had.”
Not to mention, this flan is only $14.99! That’s cheaper than a birthday cake, and with three pounds of it, it’s sure to feed everyone.
Some people weren’t fans of the flan, though. “It’s over cooked. The taste is good, just the texture is over done. You can see the consistency when she holds it up that it’s over cooked. It shouldn’t have holes in it,” one person said.
“Looks burnt,” someone else said. “i was disappointed :/” another wrote.

Others loved it. “Best flan I’ve ever had – Costco in South Austin had these!” one person said. Someone else confirmed, “It’s really good.”
Flan is made from an egg custard and sweetened with melted sugar that makes its caramel base. It can also be flavored with vanilla, coconut, coffee, chocolate, citrus, pumpkin, or mango, according to Food Network. It’s made in many Latin areas, like Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Philippines. And if you don’t have a Costco membership, you can always bake flan yourself!
