Children's Book Week, Mom's Night Out headline Loudonville Library May offerings

The following events and activities are scheduled for May at the Loudonville Public Library:

Reading Writing Redbird Club, 3:15-4:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 1. Students in grades kindergarten-three can enjoy monthly themed sessions, including interactive read alouds, partner reading, writing to connect with others, games, snack time and more. Sign up through the library or McMullen Elementary School.

Friends of the Library Meeting, 2 p.m. Monday, May 6. Cook with Chef Ethan Burley.

Music with The Boogie Woogie Kid, 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 6. Boogie woogie music of pianist/singer/songwriter Matthew Ball, The Boogie Woogie Kid! He has traveled the world sharing jazz and blues.

Children’s Book Week, May 6-11. The Friends of the Library Bookstore will have free books all week.

Moms’ Night Out, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7. Moms who have children at home can enjoy a night to themselves. There will be an adult craft along with a coffee and cupcake bar. Children ages 2 and up are invited to their own age-appropriate program led by the youth department. Sign up is required with a limit of 20 adults.

Pinterest Power, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14 or 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 15. Each month adults will craft or learn something new from Pinterest. Class size for each session is limited to 12 and sign up is required. This month participants will make a beaded wreath.

Adult Book Discussion, 11 a.m. Friday, May 17 in the Golden Center. This month’s book is "Homecoming" by Kate Morton. The book can be picked up at the circulation desk. New members are welcome.

The library will be closed Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day.
