Canton pool, splash pad to open Saturday

May 24—CANTON — Canton's pool and splash pad are set to open just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

The pool, located in the town's recreation park beside the Pigeon River, has been filled and ready for use for several weeks.

At a Thursday budget hearing, the Canton governing board considered a revenue schedule that continues the $5 per day usage for town residents but charges $8 for nonresidents. Ten-day passes will be $45 for residents and $55 for out-of-towners, unless aldermen change their decisions on the rate schedule.

Pool rental, which includes the cost of lifeguards, is $290 for up to 50 people and goes up to $380 for parties of 300.

The splash pad, located in Sorrells Street Park, is provided to all at no cost.
