Billy Joel is and will forever be known as The Piano Man. But when he's not tickling the ivories, he's focused on being a father. "I wait around for the kids to come back from school. I love hanging out with my children," he told the L.A. Times last year, referencing his youngest daughters, Della, now 8, and Remy, 6. "They’re so much fun and so interesting to me. I get to be a stay-at-home dad. That’s how I enjoy my life these days." He's also dad to 38-year-old Alexa Ray, whom he shares with ex-wife Christie Brinkley.

Joel met his fourth wife, equestrian Alexis Roderick, in 2009. In 2015 at age 66, he experienced parenthood again with the birth of daughter Della Rose. Roderick gave birth to their second daughter together, Remy Anne, just two years later in 2017.

Born on Dec. 29, 1985, Alexa is now 38 years old and the eldest of Joel's children. Like her father, Alexa is a talented musician who sings and plays classical piano. She has released her own albums and singles over the years, proving the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Earlier this year, Alexa was a guest on her dad’s The Billy Joel Channel, which runs Jan. 4 through Feb. 3 on channel 79 and the SiriusXM app. Joel wrote, “Our very own @alexarayjoel is tracing the inspirations of her father’s work back to the 1960s for a special show of Vintage Doo-Wop Nostalgia!”
For her most recent birthday, Joel posted some sweet throwback images with the simple message, “Happy birthday Alexa Ray Joel!”
Della Rose Joel (b. Aug. 12, 2015)
Joel experienced parenthood again later in life with his fourth wife, Alexis Roderick. The couple welcomed daughter Della Rose on Aug. 12, 2015, when Joel was 66. Now 8 years old, the sweet-faced Della sometimes performs on stage alongside her famous dad. In fact, Joel brought her up onto the stage during his 100th lifetime performance at Madison Square Garden!
Remy Anne Joel (b. Oct. 22, 2017)
Two years after Della's birth, Joel and Roderick had another daughter, Remy Anne, born on Oct. 22, 2017. At just 6 years old, Remy is Joel's youngest.
In 2017, The Piano Man confirmed that he and wife Alexis Joel were expecting their second child together. “We’re due next month,” he told The Belfast Telegraph. When little Della, about 2 years old at the time, came into the room during the interview, Joel hoped his next child would take after her. “This one is pretty good. She sleeps through the night. I hope the next one will,” he said.
After Remy was born, her father shared an adorable photo of the two of them on Instagram, along with a birth announcement:
“Billy Joel and wife Alexis welcomed their second daughter, Remy Anne, on Sunday, October 22nd. Remy Anne Joel entered the world at 7:50PM weighing 7lbs, 3 oz. Billy and Alexis are also parents to Della Rose, 2. Billy Joel and his 31-year-old daughter, singer/songwriter Alexa Ray Joel, were both at Alexis’ side as she gave birth at New York University Hospital in New York. Alexis and Remy are doing well and everyone is thrilled.”

Do any of Billy Joel's children sing?
So far, only his eldest daughter Alexa pursues music like her dad. She's developed an impressive career as a singer-songwriter and classical pianist, releasing an EP and multiple singles over the last two decades. As for Della and Remy, only time will tell if they follow in their big sister's footsteps. Joel occasionally brings little Della onstage to sing with him, hinting at a promising future ahead.
