Art in the Park celebrates Winamac's creativity

May 21—The Winamac Town Park came alive with color, music, and laughter earlier this month when Pulaski County Tribe hosted Art in the Park on May 11.

The event was a celebration of recent enhancements to the park. Visitors were greeted with a vibrant atmosphere and a wide range of free activities designed to engage people of all ages. Jennifer Weinert guided participants through Tai Chi and tree art sessions, Mary Delaney shared the art of creating ZINES, JoAnna Darda inspired kids with nature-themed art projects, and Lynn Darda taught the art of watercolor painting.

Other activities included sidewalk chalk art, bag decorating, face painting, maraca making, and canvas painting allowed visitors to create lasting mementos.

A highlight of the day was the live pottery demonstration by Gene Speicher of Stonewheel Pottery. Live music filled the air, with performances by local musician Kyle Hurd and a community music showcase that brought together talented individuals from the area.
