When do area farmers markets open? Here's a guide to where and when to go

It's the time of the season for farmers markets in Franklin and adjacent counties, with a few already doing brisk business and myriad others to open in the next couple of months.

Most markets are seasonal, running until just after the beginning of fall, though several remain open as late as October and November; one market operates through December. Some even offer additional attractions, like food trucks and kids' activities.

If you're ready to hit the market circuit, take a look at the list below for the dates, hours and locations of some markets offering fresh fruit and flowers, baked goods, health-and-beauty products, handcrafted items and more − and of course, every vegetable from A(sparagus) to Z(ucchini).
