Aldi Is Selling Adorable $10 Cat Scratching 'Playhouses' for Your Pet to Purr-sue Their Glamping, Taco or Desert Dreams

Even though cats are more self-sufficient than dogs or other pets, they still have a lot of needs. Outside of a clean litter box and food, they need toys that let them hunt and scratchers that let them get out excess energy so they don’t destroy our furniture. It’s also good to give them little dens or caves so they can feel safe and have a fun hiding spot to sleep in. That’s why cat scratcher houses or dens are such a good item to buy if you own a cat. While there are so many fun cat scratchers out there, Aldi is dropping four new cat scratcher playhouses in their upcoming Aldi Finds section and they’re a must-have.
Starting April 14 through April 23, Aldi is selling Heart to Tail Cat Scratching Playhouses for $9.99. As the name suggests, this is a somewhat small cardboard structure that has a cat scratcher on the bottom and a fun den on top. There are plain ones like this out there, but Aldi's options go a step further by featuring four different designs: a glamper, a cactus, a taco truck and a succulent planter. They each measure 15 inches by 15 inches by 20 inches (the width and height depend on which design you choose). They also all come with 4 grams of catnip to really get your feline friend interested in their new scratcher.

As they note, these cat-scratching playhouses promote “positive scratching behavior” and “interactive play.” Sure, your cat probably won’t start selling you fish tacos or have plans to camp at Yosemite, but they sure as heck will look cute lounging in it! And who knows, maybe they’ll live out their desert dreams in these fun scratching dens.
The glamper is decorated in a cute pink and white design with fairy lights and adorable curtains painted over the sides. Like the others, this one has tiny cutouts throughout so your cat can peek out once inside.

The cactus playhouse is taller than the others, with a pretty lime green color and pink cactus flowers on it. There are also cactus arms sticking up throughout.
Taco Truck Heart to Tail Cat Scratching Playhouse

This one might be the cutest. This taco truck has bright orange, blue, green and yellow paint and is shaped like a food truck. It even has a window cutout with an awning sticking out to really sell your cat’s new business.

And lastly, there’s the planter with a succulent sticking out of the top. It’s a square box with two circular holes for your cat to crawl in. And the “planter” part has a chic speckled design painted in a taupe and gray pattern.

There are, of course, other very similar products around, but not under $10. However, if you can’t make it to Aldi but are now inspired to purchase your feline friend a cat scratching playhouse, Chewy has a fun, 2-story Frisco Cactus Cardboard Cat House. It’s $14.16 and looks very similar to Aldi’s cactus (just with two floors of scratchers).

Target also has a food truck cat scratcher, but theirs is shrimp and sushi themed (which is a cuisine your cat would adore). Chef Shrimpys Food Truck Novelty Cat Scratcher by Target’s pet brand, Boots & Barkley, costs $21.49 and is mostly available only online at the moment. It’s bigger than Aldi’s taco truck, measuring 19.7 inches long, 16 inches tall and 18.2 inches wide, and has a slightly larger awning. But the concept is obviously similar.

Chef Shrimpys Food Truck Novelty Cat Scratcher - Boots & Barkley, $21.49 at Target
If you can’t make it to Aldi next week to get your hands on their Heart to Tail Cat Scratcher Playhouses, Chewy and Target are good alternatives. However, for under $10, Aldi’s scratchers truly can’t be beat.
