Sometimes you just need to surround yourself with cozy energy. Be it snuggling up on the couch with your knit blanket and a good book, heading to your favorite coffee shop for a warm cup of coffee and maybe a biscotti or two, or just popping on your number one sweatsuit set for a night in, we get that the feeling of coziness is the absolute best. And, according to the dating review site MyDatingAdviser, there are entire towns that capture that essence perfectly.

Over the winter the team at MyDatingAdvisor compared 170 small towns across America to determine which town is the coziest of them all. To come to its conclusion, the team looked at each town's data on winter temperatures and average snowfall, along with the availability of cafes, bakeries, crafts, and bookshops. Each town was given a "Cozy Town Index Score," and after calculating all the variables, it named Stockholm, Wisconsin, a town you've likely never heard of, as the coziest spot in the nation.

"This cozy little town puts the emphasis on little  — the full-time population is under 100 people, according to census reports," the findings revealed. "But there is a lot packed into this tiny getaway. Stockholm offers gorgeous views of Lake Pepin, plus shops, dining, and lodging, and even a performing arts center." It also added a can't-miss spot: "Stockholm Pie & General Store, which was named one of the most legendary pie shops in America."

As the town's website explains, it does indeed have Swedish roots, which is how it got its name. Today, it's home to about 80 people, including "many artists and craftsmen" drawn to its small-town charms. It's a spot that's more than happy to welcome guests, especially to its music and arts festivals, farm-to-table restaurants, and winery.

Joining Stockholm on the list is the ever-popular ski town of Stowe, Vermont, in second, followed by Stanley, Idaho; Ellicottville, New York; and Breckenridge, Colorado, rounding out the top five. Also making the list is Medora, North Dakota, in sixth, followed by Lake Placid, New York; Keystone, South Dakota; Mackinac Island, Michigan; and Lake George, New York rounding out the top 10.
