To celebrate PEOPLE's Beautiful Issue and its 50 year anniversary (!) our beauty editors rounded up the 50 game-changing tips from the pros behind Hollywood's most gorgeous looks. Whether you're looking for to perk up your complexion or intensify your lash line, there's a trick or two for you, below.

Dry brush your face. I recently discovered — and am currently obsessed — with the Lymphatic Brush by Cecily Braden which helps reduce puffiness by removing excess fluid from the face. Do it on dry, clean skin before makeup using the massage techniques on their site. — makeup artist Mariel Barrera

Glow from inside out. I always start skin prep with Jillian Dempsey's Gold Bar, a vibrating tool that helps to boost blood flow. — makeup artist Hinako

Try a red light tool. Proper skincare is key to makeup looking flawless. Get smoother. Prep your skin with a hydrating mask — you’ll notice the difference. I love the COSRX Snail Mucin Power Sheet Mask. It plumps the skin and adds the perfect amount of hydration before makeup. — makeup artist Emily Gray

Improve tone. For brighter, tighter skin, I apply iS Clinical's Active Peel System. Every single time I do, people ask me what I've used. — makeup artist Hinako

Layer hydration. I cannot live without my Tatcha Moisture Mist. If my client is very dehydrated, not only do I start my makeup prep with it, I also spray of bit of it into foundation. — makeup artist Rebecca Restrepo

Treat your eyes. Given that the under eye area has the thinnest skin of the face, it typically shows the quickest signs of the aging process. I focus on plumping this area as much as possible. Before applying serums and creams on the face, I massage a few drops of The Ordinary's Multi-Peptide Eye Serum in. — makeup artist Mariel Barrera

Moisturize your lips. Lips need TLC too! During skin prep, put on a lip mask. Rhode's Peptide Lip Treatment is always in my kit. It really locks in moisture and keeps lips soft. Additionally, makes a great hydrating gloss on top of any lipstick or liner. — makeup artist Emily Gray

Protect your skin. Cay Skin's SPF 45 gives you the perfect Island glow and helps keep your skin moisturized. — makeup artist Lindsay Doyle

Take time to prime skin. To ensure a perfect foundation application, I create a base using two complementary products: Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Oil-Infused Serum and Weleda Skin Food. Start by pressing the Fresh serum into the skin than follow with the Weleda moisturizer and let that to sit on the skin for five minutes before applying foundation. — makeup artist Jessica Candage

Minimize shine. Spot treating your face with an oil control primer ensures you'll have dewy skin only where you want it. I love to apply Smashbox's Photo Finish Control Mattifying Primer to the center of the face (between the brows, nose, upper lip and chin) only to control oil. — makeup artist Jessica Candage

Nail a pretty gleam. Use a glowy primer Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter under your foundation on the high points of the face. This effect will give you red carpet-ready skin every day! — makeup artist Emily Gray

Customize your tinted moisturizer. I like fuller coverage foundations such as Armani beauty Luminous Silk and Dior Forever Glow. But in the warmer months or when you don’t want or need fuller coverage, I like to add a serum or moisturizer to foundation for a softer look. — makeup artist Robert Sesnek

Wear multitasking foundation. I'm a firm believer in wearing makeup which enhances and improves the skin as you wear it. Shiseido's RevitalEssence Skin Glow Foundation SPF 30 has sunscreen, a fermented Kefir to maintain a healthy microbiome and niacinamide to smooth and brighten your skin. — makeup artist Mariel Barrera

Reach for a sponge. I use one to apply foundation. Doing so allows you to build up to your comfort level. — makeup artist Keita Moore

Cover blemishes. If my client wants to hide acne, I use this buildable Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer before foundation. Wait until the areas you've I applied are dry to put on foundation. — makeup artist Hinako

Get a lifted effect. For any areas that I want to look lifted, such as eyes or lips, I use YSL Beauty's Touche Éclat Pen to brighten. — makeup artist Hinako

Look lit from within. Applying your cream blush before your foundation (one of my favorites is Laura Mercier Tined Moisturizer Blush) gives the effect of glowing skin. After I've put those on, for an extra pop and to make the color last, I’ll set with very light powder blush. — makeup artist Robert Sesnek

Get a concentrated pop of color. I swirl the blush brush into the blush pan and then lightly tapped the product onto the cheeks, instead of swiping the brush onto the cheeks, until the optimal amount of blush application was achieved. — makeup artist Samuel Paul (See this tip in action! Pay attention to your blush placement. Applying blush higher on your cheeks bones, rather than on the apples of your cheeks, will give your face definition. — makeup artist Genevieve Herr

Score sun-kissed skin. I sweep bronzer on places the sun would naturally bronze the skin: the tops of the cheek bones, the frame of face and the bridge of nose. — makeup artist Kelsea Deenihan Fisher (See this tip in action! Sculpt with makeup. To add some additional definition to the face, sweep a contour stick under the cheek bones and jawline, diffusing the formula with a blender brush, leaving subtly defined features. — makeup artist Kelsea Deenihan Fisher (See this tip in action! Create a monochromatic look. It's timeless and easy. I love using a cream product like Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush for an entire look. After the cream is used on the eyes, I set it with either translucent powder or a matching eyeshadow to set it. Then when I do the lips, I’ll either use a brush for a more precise look or tap the color in with fingers. — makeup artist Robert Sesnek

Use powder wisely. A big concern with powder is that it can be dry, heavy and settle into fine lines and wrinkles so often I use one infused with hyaluronic acid like By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder that can blur, set and also plump the skin. The ideal way to apply this powder is by dusting it on lightly in circular motions with a small fluffy brush. — makeup artist Jessica Candage

Amp up your glow. After you finish your makeup, use a serum stick over your highlighter to add a more subtle radiance. — makeup artist Daniel Martin (See this tip in action! The pro used Tatcha's The Serum Stick on Ali Wong before the Golden Globes.)

Create a pigmented eye effect. Layering your powder eyeshadow over your cream eyeshadow increases the intensity of the shade, keeps the formulas crease-free and helps it last forever. Just be sure to blend quickly as creams tend to dry down fast. I love Pat McGrath Labs' palettes, which can be used wet or dry. — makeup artist Robert Sesnek

Get a fuller looking lash line. When applying eyeliner along the lash line and push liner into lashes for a fuller look. — makeup artist Fiona Stiles (See this tip in action! Fake the look of falsies. If you don't want to wear false lashes, you can build up your lashes with a few coats of a quality primer. Lancôme Cils Booster XL vitamin-infused lash thickening mascara primer coats and separates each lash for the perfect mascara base. — makeup artist Jessica Candage

Curl your lashes. It opens your eyes instantly and makes your lashes look longer. I've been loving the RevitaLash Signature Eyelash Curler because it works on all eye shapes. — makeup artist Emily Gray

Add drama at your lash line. To create a cat eye shape with lashes I use Lashify's Starburst Gossamer Lash Collection at the outer corners of the eyes. I start with SB10 in the outer corner, followed by two SB12 lashes and finally another SB10 lash in the center of the eye. — makeup artist Vincent Oquendo

Double up on lip liner. I love the look of a fuller natural lip. To create it, first I apply a lip pencil that's close to my client's lip shade directly on the lip line. Then I'll use a slightly lighter pencil along the outer edge, blending it with the first one. I like MAC Cosmetics and NYX Professional Makeup pencils.) Then I'll add a little balm. — makeup artist Marz Collins

Plump up the volume. If you love to over line your lips, you can fake a fuller lip much easier with a stain, and best of all it stays all day! Covergirl Outlast Lipstain is a handy little pen with natural shades for perfect nude lip. — makeup artist Jessica Candage

Make your lips last all day. This is especially useful when wearing reds and other statement colors. Allow a lip balm to sink in for a few minutes, then apply a very light layer of powder foundation on your lips — just enough to neutralize some of the pigment — and set it with translucent powder. Next, apply your lipstick (I love the vibrant red shade Flame by Tom Ford), blot, and apply another layer. — makeup artist Robert Sesnek

When in doubt, go nude. Having your perfect nude lip liner in your makeup bag is essential! You can use it by itself for a natural lip moment with a balm or as a base for any lip color. Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Lip Definer in No. 2 is my perfect nude. — makeup artist Emily Gray

Create a stain. This provided a softer, more wearable texture and is one of my favorite ways to embrace a bold lip without overpowering the face. — makeup artist Nina Park (See this tip in action! Exfoliate from the neck down. Use a gentle scrub to slough off dead cells so your skin is glowy and hydrated. Pro pick: Raw Sugar Living Sugar Scrubs. — makeup artist Celeste Rodrigues

Apply body lotion liberally. Apply body lotion liberally. One of my absolute favorite body moisturizers for everyone is La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+M Triple Repair Body Moisturizer For Dry Skin. It is the perfect pre application before body makeup or for a light glow, or you can mix in your favorite liquid shimmer like L'Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion. — makeup artist Celeste Rodrigues

Match your neck and chest. Even and smooth the area with Alleven Colour Shield Glow with a brush so you have control of how much you apply and where you apply it. — makeup artist Nikki DeRoest (See this tip in action! The pro used the product on Lainey Wilson before the Grammys.)

Boost texture. Apply RōZ Root Lift volumizing spray throughout damp hair to create more body, then diffuse the hair on a low heat setting to build up texture. — hairstylist Mara Roszak (See this tip in action! The pro used the product on Emma Stone before the BAFTAs.)

Let the elements dictate your prep. I always apply a heat protectant to towel-dried hair. But since it's been a little dry in L.A., I add two pumps of an anti-frizz serum from root to tip. You can also use the serum to take any rogue fly-aways after the hair is dry as well. — hairstylist Lona Vigi (See this tip in action! Blow dry hair with two brushes. Use a paddle brush at the beginning of your blow out to get a straight, sleek hair. Once the hair is about 90% dry, section it and switch to a boar bristle round brush to get a sleek, shiny finish. — hairstylist Lona Vigi

Get the ultimate lift. I run mousse throughout strands to create added hold, then after blow drying in sections with a round brush, I add in Velcro rollers from the crown and back of the hair. — makeup artist Jacob Rozenberg. Cover your grays. I've used L'Oréal Paris’ Magic Root Cover Up to hide a few resistant grays. Hydrate color-treated hair. After you freshly highlight your hair, you have to make sure you're adding moisture back in. I love the Olaplex Nº.6 Bond Smoother leave-in treatment. Shine on.
