Vivian Howard Agrees with Michelle Obama: Turnip for What?

"There are some ingredients that just sell," chef Vivian Howard tells us in the next episode of her PBS documentary series, A Chef’s Life. ”Shrimp. Tomatoes. Turnips? Not so much.”

Howard, it seems, is on a mission to change that. (Something she and the First Lady could work on together, perhaps?) The trailer above follows the North Carolina native as she learns a bit about the root vegetable and preps for a charity dinner. The meal’s locale—a storied mansion—has her a bit intimidated, especially with her menu that includes…the humble turnip.

Tune in on Sunday to see if things go off without a hitch. Check here for your local listings.
