Trevor Noah's campaign ad for Republican congressman involved in sex abuse scandal

On Wednesday’s The Daily Show, host Trevor Noah talked about Republican Congressman Jim Jordan from Ohio. He is a frontrunner to replace Paul Ryan when he steps down as speaker of the house next year. Jordan was also recently accused of turning a blind eye to sexual abuse when he was an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State University.Wow, turning a blind eye to rampant sexual abuse of the kids are you supposed to be protecting," Noah said while discussing the story. “I'm sorry, it doesn't get more scumbag than that.”Jordan recently responded to the allegations by saying nobody ever actually reported the abuse, it was just talked about in a locker room setting. So in other words, he used the ol’ “locker room talk” defense. “Like what is it with these guys in locker rooms?” Noah jokingly wondered.Noah drew comparisons with Jordan to a former house speaker from the early 2000’s, Dennis Hastert, who was an admitted pedophile who covered up his crimes with payoffs. And that’s just the kind of silver lining Noah thinks Jordan can use in his quest for speaker, and Noah even made a fake ad to help him out.

“Jim Jordan is only accused of enabling sexual abuse,” the ad says, after laying out Hastert’s history. “And the victims weren't children. He is the progress we need. Jim Jordan, not as bad as a pedophile.”The Daily Show With Trevor Noah airs weeknights at 11 on Comedy Central.Check out what former president Bill Clinton had to say about Sarah Huckabee Sanders on The Daily Show:
