Terry Crews and Samantha Bee don't think jokes about sexually assaulted men are funny

Terry Crews joined Full Frontal With Samantha Bee to create a public service announcement concerning off-color jokes about male sexual assault victims. They believe there’s a double standard when it comes to comedy about men being raped and assaulted.

Crews, who claims to have been sexually assaulted by a powerful Hollywood agent, has become an outspoken advocate for victims. He even testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee concerning the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights.

Bee cited multiple examples of how culture accepts men being raped in prison, with even police departments joking about “dropping the soap” in a prison shower.

Another example discussed: teenage boys who are raped by older women. Bee argued that in our culture, boys aren’t always considered victims, though they should be.

In the playful PSA, Crews warns, “Stop telling those f***ing jokes.” He added, “But here’s the good news — lots of things are funny that aren’t rape.” He then gave examples such as spit takes and pies in the face.

Full Frontal With Samantha Bee airs Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. on TBS.
