Kristen Wiig has Saturday Night Live to thank for a few of her most iconic characters, and one dental bill in particular.

During a Wednesday appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Wiig, 50, reflected on a few of her fondest memories of SNL, where she was a cast member between 2005 and 2012.

Wiig — who will be hosting the show for her fifth time on April 6 — shared with Fallon that while she sang "Living on a Prayer" with Jason Sudeikis at one party, another one was memorable for entirely different reasons.

After Fallon asked about the Foo Fighters appearing for her final show's afterparty in 2012, Wiig then explained that she "chipped my tooth that night."

"I really partied, guys," she joked. "Well I was drinking a beer. And I had the bottle and someone elbowed the bottle. And I... I know."

"But I didn't care," Wiig added. "I was like, 'Oh, well.' And then I woke up the next day and I was like, 'Wait a minute. Something's sharp in my mouth.' "

Wiig previously mentioned the tooth-chip incident in a 2012 Marie Claire cover story, when the tooth-chip was described as "Hangover-style." After a night of hearing Dave Grohl perform various covers, she woke up the next morning with something "hard and small" in her mouth, she said.

Wiig has previously hosted SNL in 2013, 2016 and twice in 2020. For her latest stint on the show, she'll be accompanied by musical guest RAYE.

This week, Wiig is also celebrating the release of the Apple TV+ series Palm Royale, in which she stars alongside Carol Burnett. As she told Fallon during her Wednesday appearance on The Tonight Show, Wiig said she could talk about the actress "for a long time."

"She inspired me so much. I mean, it's the first time I ever really saw sketch comedy with her show," she said, adding, "She's amazing."

Speaking with PEOPLE at the series premiere last week, Wiig explained that she and her costar "have dinner and talk and text," describing her as "so funny."

“I did press with her yesterday and she was cracking everybody up," Wiig said. “And I am a better person from knowing her. I just love her."

In the series, Wiig stars as Maxine Simmons, a woman who moved to Palm Beach and is trying to gain access to the Palm Beach high society in 1969. Burnett takes on the role of Norma, who is described as "the grande dame of Palm Beach high society."

"I literally said today, 'I still can't believe that we work together,' " Wiig previously told Entertainment Tonight. "I wanna like verify that it's her. I'm like, 'It's Carol, right? Yeah, I mean, it's Carol.' ”

“And for me, just with sketch comedy and everything she did for every person, every woman, she's such an inspiration,” she added. “It was the crew, everyone. I mean, she's just a dream."
