Kelly Clarkson Gives Fans ‘Goosebumps’ With ‘Powerful’ New ‘Kellyoke’ Cover

Kelly Clarkson’s fans are raving over the latest “Kellyoke” segment featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show, with some even declaring that the performance gave them “goosebumps.”

The American Idol winner never fails to impress with her fun version of karaoke. The “Stronger” singer has covered a ton of artists ranging from The White Stripes to Sia in her five seasons hosting her NBC daytime talk show. She occasionally performs her own songs as well, as she did for a special introduction to the show’s episode on Wednesday, April 17.

To mark 100 days until the start of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the 41-year-old singer performed “Invincible” from her 2015 album Piece by Piece. Clarkson sang onstage as a video montage of American athletes competing at past Olympic Games played on a large screen behind her.

The “Since U Been Gone” singer later told her audience that she thought the song was “perfect” to kick off the 100-day countdown to this year’s Olympic Games. Clarkson, who will be in Paris to co-host NBC’s coverage of the Opening Ceremony alongside former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning and sportscaster Mike Tirico, told fans she has been practicing French and conducting her own Olympics research.

The official Instagram accounts for both NBC and the NBC Olympics left comments on a video of Clarkson’s performance that The Kelly Clarkson Show shared online. While the NBC Olympics account left three starry-eyed emojis in the comment section, NBC reacted to the song’s pairing with the video montage, writing, “the song WITH the montage 🥹🥹.”

Some fans encouraged the network to consider using the song during its Opening Ceremony coverage.

“This song is so moving and powerful 🔥🔥🔥 Speaks so well for the greatness of the athletes 💪🙌 Should be played at NBC’s Olympic opening 😍,” one person wrote. Another agreed that “Invincible” would be the “perfect song for the olympics.”

Other Clarkson fans left comments heaping praise on the “Because of You” singer’s performance.

“This song is already great and powerful, but adding in that montage and I am weeping,” one fan wrote.

“POWERFUL!!! You are AMAZING with your cords,” another fan said.

“Goosebumps. This song is beautiful,” one Instagram user wrote as another agreed, writing, “She still gives me goosebumps. So amazing.”
