Free Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra concert and resource fair coming to Delano Sunday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bakersfield’s Symphony Orchestra will be hosting a free family concert and resource fair in Delano Sunday.

The event will begin with a free health care resource fair at 11:30 a.m. Vendors will provide health and wellness information and screenings, Medi-cal renewal information, raffle prizes, food trucks and more.

As California stresses the need to crack down on crime, Bakersfield is a key city of concern

The orchestra will be performing “The Conductor’s Spellbook” at 1 p.m. at Cesar Chavez High School, located at 800 Browning Road.

The “Conductor’s Spellbook” tells the story of a boy who goes to a symphony concert and experiences the orchestra. The boy finds a book of spells which he uses to take control of the orchestra.

The Symphony concert is sponsored by the KDA Creative Corps grant that aims to bring arts and resources to communities that have less access.
