Chris Pine stepped out in, erm, some sort of beachcomber style for the premiere of his latest film, Poolboy, and let's just say the internet has some thoughts.

The Unstoppable star hit the red carpet at Los Angeles' Vista Theatre on April 24, 2024, where he looked like he was ready to take a stroll on the shoreline as he posed in a pair of denim shorts with a pale yellow "I <3 LA" t-shirt tucked into the waistband. Over that, he wore a peachy tan suit jacket with white linework and tucked his red-striped-sock-clad feet into worn work boots.

For accessories, the 43-year-old appeared to wear a blond wig or extensions with a pair of bright orange sunnies pushing it back off his face, as well as an orange and pink boutonniere.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, Pine plays Darren Barrenman, "an unwavering optimist and native Angeleno who spends his days looking after the pool of the Tahitian Tiki apartment block and fighting to make his hometown a better place to live" until a "femme fatale" draws him into an investigation surrounding "a shady business deal" between "a corrupt politician and a greedy land developer," so it looks like Barrenman himself showed up to celebrate the LA premiere of the comedy.

Not all fans were sold on the choice, with one questioning, "chris pine wyd 😭😭," but most were onboard with the method wardrobe.

"I am so in for this era of Chris Pine's career," one said. "What's the movie? Doesn't matter. I am seated."

"You know, even as a lesbian, I still have a lil' crush on Chris Pine," another even wrote.

"They will never make me hate you Chris Pine," someone else affirmed.
