This is only one of many animal encounters that the 3-year-old has experienced, thanks to her family's work at the Australia Zoo

Bindi Irwin's daughter had a wild encounter with a feathery friend!

On Saturday, April 20, Irwin, 25 — who is the daughter of the late wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin — shared a photo on Instagram of her 3-year-old daughter, Grace, getting up close and personal with a massive parrot. The little girl's mother, grandmother Terri Irwin and uncle Robert Irwin also appeared in the photo.

"Sunshine in my heart. 💛 Thankful to live in my favourite place on Earth," Bindi wrote in the caption, tagging the @australiazoo, where the family works.

"Every day is magic. 💚," the zoo's Instagram page wrote in the comments section of the post.

At only 3, Grace — whom Bindi shares with her husband and fellow conservationist, Chandler Powell — is already heavily involved with the Australia Zoo herself. Just weeks after Grace was born, Terri, 59, shared a photo of her granddaughter next to some of the chickens at the zoo.

Powell, 27, and Bindi have also shared photos of their daughter’s animal encounters, including pictures of Grace next to kangaroos, tortoises and a koala. Just last month, Powell posted photos on Instagram of their daughter bonding with a baby kangaroo.

In the photo set, Grace cuddled the animal bundled up in a blanket on her lap. Later, she moved on to an exam table, where she examined and treated her toy whale.

"Grace spent the morning at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital in our wildlife nursery and treating her little toy whale. It’s incredible watching her connect and show empathy towards every species," Powell wrote.

"Our thoughtful veterinarian in the making! ❤️ P.S. Thank you to the vets and nurses for helping make her morning so magical. Best team in the world!" he added.

Grace is even living up to her late grandfather's legacy as a crocodile hunter. In February, Bindi shared photos of Grace posing with an open-mouthed statue of “Cameron the Croc.” One snap showed her at just a few months old, while another showed her at age 2, sitting in the jaws of the statue.

“November 2021 vs. January 2024 🐊, I love watching our beautiful girl grow up at #AustraliaZoo,” Bindi captioned the Instagram carousel.

“Grace is so tall and terrific! I love her so much,” Bindi’s mother Terri Irwin commented on the post.

In her 2022 PEOPLE cover story, Bindi shared that Grace has a deep connection to her late grandfather, in more ways than just posing with crocs.

"We have so many documentaries of Dad, and we're always playing them for Grace," Bindi said. "It's so fun to watch her study him. I didn't realize how much Dad's passion for life and his animated facial expressions — I mean, they captivate her."

Bindi told PEOPLE she “definitely sees parts” of Steve in her daughter.

"His determination and his inability to sit still. I think that's really special. I'm excited to see as she grows up how her personality will develop,” she said.

The Animal Planet star added that she thinks Steve would have been equally as obsessed with Grace: “If Dad was around, honestly, we would never see her. He would be in love."
