Hemant Soren takes oath as Jharkhand CM

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) legislative party leader Hemant Soren took oath as the ninth chief minister of Jharkhand on Saturday. Hemant Soren, who was a former deputy chief minister in Jharkhand's previous BJP-led coalition government of Arjun Munda, had staked claim for forming government with the support of 43 MLAs on July 9. President's Rule in the state was set to expire on July 18.
