Rosberg’s teammate Lewis Hamilton completed a one-two finish for the German team, which was impressive considering the Briton started all the way back at 10th due to car trouble during qualifying. The gap between the two drivers was 25 seconds.

A disastrous day for Ferrari

Ferrari’s [NYSE:RACE] Kimi Räikkönen came in third, approximately 32 seconds behind the leader. It was a disastrous day for the Scuderia as star driver Sebastian Vettel was forced to retire after a crash on the first lap.

The German got off the line well but was hit twice by Red Bull Racing’s Daniil Kvyat and eventually spun into the barriers on the outside of Turn 3. Prior to that he was pushed into Red Bull’s other driver Daniel Ricciardo, forcing the Australian to pit early. Kvyat, who received a 10-second stop and go penalty and lost three points, later apologized for the action.

In fourth and fifth places were Williams drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa, respectively. Bottas had a strong start, helped in part by the safety car following Vettel’s crash, but eventually lost out to the top drivers.
