Yahoo Autos UPDATE NHRA Racer Dom Lagana Continues Recovery Following August Crash
NHRA racer Dom Lagana is home and being treated as an outpatient after suffering life-threatening injuries in a single-car crash on August 9.

According to a post on his Instagram account, Dom Lagana has finally returned home.
Lagana's family posted on Facebook an update to the driver's condition in August.
"Dom has battled through lots of issues, some more serious than others," the post read. "He suffered a head injury and bad burns to his body. He was in a non induced coma for two weeks and was showing signs of waking up but then caught a bad case of pneumonia. Some of his progress has now been stalled in order to focus on his lungs."
"He is fighting for his life every day and still needs your prayers."
According to the Hendricks County (Ind.) Sheriff's Office, Lagana, 34, was driving a 1957 Chevrolet Wagon that went off the road and hit a utility pole. Lagana suffered life-threatening injuries. His passengers in the car, Richie Crampton, 40, and Jacob Sanders, 30, were injured, but their injuries were not life-threatening. Lagana is from Scarsdale, N.Y., while Crampton and Sanders both list Brownsburg, Ind., as their residence.
Lagana last drove in the NHRA's Top Fuel class in 2018. Crampton drove a Top Fuel dragster in 2019 for Kalitta Motorsports. Crampton won the 2014 U.S. Nationals as a rookie at Lucas Oil Raceway in 2014, and he was in line to race a Top Alcohol Funny Car in the upcoming U.S. Nationals. Sanders is an engine builder in Indianapolis. He worked for the Torrence Racing team.
Crampton and Sanders have since been treated and released.
