Iron Maiden's Giant 747 Is Back In Action

Ed Force One is go.

From Popular Mechanics

Things briefly looked grim for Iron Maiden's Ed Force One, a modified Boeing 747-400 that recently was damaged in a towing accident on a runway in Chile. But never fear, Hessians. The Boeing is back after some pretty hefty repairs, just a week and a half after its initial accident.

In a post on Facebook, the band laid out the repair. The port side engines were damaged and had to be replaced entirely. The new 11,000-lb., $4 million engines had to be flown in from Luxembourg on an entirely different retrofitted 747. Cowlings (the ring on the outside of the engine) and thrust reversers (a part at the back of the jet engine) had to be shipped as well.
