If you needed another reason not to drive recklessly on public roads, here's one. This C7 Corvette flung its engine, along with most of its body parts, along the side of the 10 Freeway after a crash in San Bernardino, California on Saturday night, according to OnScene TV.

Witnesses say the Chevy sports car was possibly racing with another Corvette at the time of the crash, which also damaged several other vehicles, including a Ford Edge. OnScene TV reports the driver of the C7 suffered minor injuries and was able to walk away from the incident.

Video from the scene shows a mostly stripped monocoque of what used to be the Corvette in question, missing most of its components beyond the firewall, along with at least three wheels. The engine was found lying alone, several steps away from the car.

It's unclear if the Corvette driver has been or will be issued any charges or violations following the crash. The California Highway Patrol did not immediately respond to Road & Track's request for information.

Take this as a lesson: Don't race on the street. In addition to trashing your car, you could get yourself or someone else killed.
