Own an iPhone? You could get a piece of a $35M settlement

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Owners of certain Apple products could be eligible for up to $349 as part of a $35 million settlement.

Apple settled a 2019 lawsuit regarding audio issues with the iPhone 7, but denied the claims and any allegations of wrongdoing.

Customers who received an email or physical mail notification from the Settlement Administrator may be eligible to receive part of the settlement.

The eligibility criteria are as follows: You must have owned an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus between September 16, 2016, and January 3, 2023, and either notified Apple about an issue covered by the settlement or paid the company for a repair or replacement, according to the Settlement Administrator.

To claim a payment, let the Settlement Administrator know how you want to receive it by June 3. You can do this by mail or on the settlement website.

Each payment will range from a minimum of $50 to a maximum payout of $349. Customers who reported audio issues to Apple, but did not pay to replace or repair their device, are eligible for $125 as part of the settlement.

The deadline to claim part of the settlement is June 3. The final approval hearing for the lawsuit is on July 18.
