REI’s Anniversary sale is live now until May 27, with savings on everything from travel gear like duffel bags and lightweight jackets to camping essentials like tents and sleeping pads. But right now is probably the best time to grab a bike at REI, with deals of up to 40% off e-bikes, hybrid bikes, and more. Whether you’re a roadie, MTBer, or a cruiser, REI’s in-house Co-Op Cycles brand offers top features at an affordable price, including its upgraded commuter e-bike that's nearly $800 off.

Co-Op Cycles' Generation e1.2 Electric Bike is now 40% off, dropping the price of the nearly $1,900 bike to just $1,139—a jaw-dropping savings of $760. It’s loaded with features that make it a great around-town ride, whether you’re heading to the beach on the weekend or running errands, and the bike features several subtle upgrades over the first edition.

Like the first-generation model, the Co-Op Cycles e1.2 is a Class 1 e-bike. That means it has a pedal-assist motor with no throttle, giving your efforts a boost with a top speed of up to 20 mph. This version uses the same Bafang 350-watt motor, but the battery capacity is now 672 watt hours. It has a range of up to 50 miles—a 10-mile improvement over its predecessor—and the battery is lockable and removable for easy charging at home or work.

There are also plenty of integrated accessories. The bike features both a front rack and a rear rack, increasing its utility as a grocery hauler. Integrated front and rear lights are powered by the bike’s battery for added convenience and road safety. The bike also has a scooter-style double kickstand for more secure parking, while hydraulic disc brakes offer robust stopping power compared to mechanical or rim brakes.

Shoppers appreciated its utility. “It's perfect for getting me around town," a shopper said. "I use the lowest boost to help get started from a dead stop, only need to kick in higher boosts when climbing hills. It feels sturdy, rides smooth, and has given me no trouble.” Another shopper agreed, saying, “I find this bike to have ample power for keeping up with traffic and getting up steep hills when it counts. I also prefer the versatility and simplicity of the front rack [compared] to the e1.1 with its suspension fork, which I have not missed with this bike.”

Another shopper wrote, “As a lifelong cyclist, I've been anti-e-bike for what turns out to be stupid reasons.” They added, “30 minutes on this bike, with my 12-year-old on an identical build, has left me questioning why I have been so reluctant to embrace the future. This thing is a pure joy to ride.”

Whether you’re running errands, commuting, or just going on joy rides, REI Co-Op Cycles' e.1.2 e-bike is a great option that comes fully loaded with lights, racks, a kickstand, and a removable battery. This style is going to be discontinued, as REI is likely making way for updated models, so act fast while it’s still available for nearly $800 off.
