It’s only a few weeks until May 4, a.k.a. Star Wars day, and Lego is getting ready to tempt your wallet with the latest ship to join its Ultimate Collector Series fleet—or rather, rejoin, as the TIE Interceptor makes its way back to the line for a major update. Plus, it’s joining some prequel friends!
This morning Lego officially announced a bevy of new sets releasing at the start of May, culminating with its traditional May 4 release of a UCS Star Wars set: the TIE Interceptor. Celebrating not just 25 years of The Phantom Menace, 2024 marks 25 years of Lego Star Wars full stop, so it makes sense that the toymaker is returning to one of the first ever ships in the UCS series—the original Interceptor set was released in 2000—to get a much-needed makeover.
Joining the lush new set are the previously announced Sith Interceptor and BARC Speeder Escape, which features Grogu and the first-ever minifigure of Ahmed Best’s Jedi master, Kelleran Beq, as well as 4 more releases inspired by The Phantom Menace and the prequels in general. The latest in Lego Star Wars’ diorama line will replicate Anakin and Sebulba’s duel in the Mos Espa podrace, while Lego’s chunky BrickHeadz series will see a set dedicated to Phantom Menace characters—with Anakin, Queen Amidala, Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Captain Panaka, and Jar Jar Binks—and a standalone release of Clone Commander Cody, as he appears in Revenge of the Sith. Lastly, in another Phantom Menace release, there’ll be a brand-new buildable Droideka, which can even be curled up into a rollable ball mode!
All of these sets, besides the UCS TIE Interceptor, will release on May 1—with the TIE rolling out on Star Wars day itself, May 4. Click through to see all the pictures!

Last spring, founders from all over the world began their treks to Techstars’ Stockholm accelerator program. The bank’s parent company, SVB Financial, was a major investor in Techstars and, like much of the startup world, Techstars had a sizable deposit there, according to sources. A day before the bank completely collapsed, Techstars Stockholm Managing Director Alfredo Jollon posted an essay on LinkedIn saying he had bought shares in SVB Financial.
