Appleseed Solar to begin bringing in equipment for planned project

Apr. 11—Residents may soon see work beginning south of Anoka and north of Walton between Cass County Roads 850 East and 375 East, according to a press release from the Logansport/Cass County Planning Department.

The planning department said Appleseed Solar has received the required state permits to begin bringing in equipment to start moving dirt.

According to its website, the Appleseed Solar project is a solar project proposed for Cass County that will have a capacity of up to 200 megawatts of solar energy.

It is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources LLC, the world's largest generator of renewable energy from the wind and the sun.
