Is there trouble in paradise for Selena Gomez and the Weeknd?
Could one of Hollywood’s hottest couples be on the outs? Selena Gomez and the Weeknd have been going strong for about 10 months, but they have found themselves sharing headlines this week with their exes Justin Bieber and Bella Hadid.
Gomez, 25, set the internet (and those who still ship Jelena) on fire this week when TMZ got photos of Bieber, 23, pulling up to her house in Los Angeles. The singers — who publicly feuded last year — were with a group of friends; however, the outlet claims Bieber and Gomez also hung out once last week.
Meanwhile, Page Six claims that the Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye) is busy beefing with Drake, 31, over his ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid. Drake has been hooking up with the 21-year-old model, which the “Starboy” crooner supposedly doesn’t appreciate.
“They both hang in the same Toronto crew, and now they’re having to pick sides. The Weeknd performed, and people on Drake’s side were like, ‘I can’t show up to that. … Got to have allegiance,’” an insider alleged. “They aren’t getting along right now. … The groups are beefing because [Drake] broke the bro code. They 100 percent hooked up.”
The Weeknd, 27, has been on tour, so it’s been a while since he and Gomez have been spotted out together. However, that will likely change because he’s set to perform in New York City tonight. A source close to the couple tell Yahoo Lifestyle “everything is fine” between the two.
According to our insider, Bieber and Gomez reconnected after the “Bad Liar” songstress revealed she had a kidney transplant. “It’s totally innocent,” says the source. “They have a lot of mutual friends through church, so it’s not out of the blue they reconnected. He reached out to her, and enough time had passed where they seem ready to be friends.”
TMZ reports that the Weeknd is cool with the former couple rekindling a friendship.
Gomez will be performing her new single “Wolves” next month at the American Music Awards. It’s her first performance since her kidney transplant, and it doesn’t sound like we’ll have to worry about who her date will be.
“Selena and [the Weeknd] are great,” insists our source. “Everything is fine.”
