Is Taylor Swift the next Nelly? The singer’s cat, Meredith Grey, scratched her owner, forcing the 25-year-old to wear a white bandage with her little black dress. “Great work Meredith,” Swift wrote on Instagram alongside an image of rather large wound. “I was just trying to love you and now you owe me 40 million dollars.”

As advised by actual Meredith Grey, otherwise known as Ellen Pompeo, Swift is taking care of herself appropriately. “@TaylorSwift this is awkward because my namesake did this but as your doctor, please keep that scratch clean!” the actress commented. “Yours truly the real Dr. Grey.” Following doctor’s orders, the “Style” singer complied and covered up.

Not letting a little blood get in the way of a night out, Swift stepped out in a short cotton dress that showed off her famous (and reportedly well-insured) legs, band-aid and all. Perhaps she was taking style notes from Nelly. When the rapper first wore a band-aid beneath his eye, it was to protect an injury. But he became so fond of the plastic adhesive that he continued wearing it as a fashion statement, with the face accessory making appearances on red carpets and in music videos.

Hopefully Swift won’t suffer at the claws of her cat again, but fashion trends are cyclical after all so a band-aid strictly for show resurgence is more than possible it’s probable.
