Sigh: Jon Hamm Is Not Don Draper

Jon Hamm is a very attractive man. The actor has a chiseled chin and angular cheekbones that give him model looks; a charismatic 10-watt smile that shines on screen; and a smolder that can make anyone weak at the knees. While he looks great in anything, the man can wear a suit seriously well and the public has gotten to know (and love) the 43-year-old actor just as much — or maybe even more — as his buttoned-up alter ego Don Draper.

But when Jon isn’t being Don, his everyday person isn’t as formal or 1960s-era, which comes as a disappointment to a lot of people. Recently spotted in California, Hamm, as himself, was seen wearing a navy blue newsboy cap, trench coat, blue shirt, and tie. He looked great. The outfit is perfectly put together and fits him well — but it’s just not enough. After watching six seasons of Mad Menand seeing what’s there with a little bit of grooming and a tailored black suit, it’s somehow disappointing seeing him in street clothes. Doesn’t the public deserve to see him at his best at all times?
