Please Let This Happen: Jennifer Lawrence Wants Amy Schumer to Wear Her Same Dress at the Golden Globes

The thought of two actresses showing up to a red carpet event in the same dress may sound like a sartorial nightmare to some, but Jennifer Lawrence is ready to embrace the twinning life, as long as it’s with her pal Amy Schumer.

The Hunger Games actress told E! that she and the comedienne are purposefully plotting to rock the same outfit at the upcoming Golden Globes Awards, effectively creating one of the best awards show moments ever. “We’re going to try to figure out to wear the exact same thing,” she said. “That’s my mission. I really want us to wear the same thing." Knowing how hilarious both Schumer and Lawrence are, we think this should go great. And it sounds as if Dior will be the lucky fashion house to bless us with this moment, as Lawrence mentioned she will be wearing a piece from the label on the big night. "I’m just going to have to have Dior make two of whatever they’re making for me,” she said. Schumer and Lawrence are both nominated in the same category this year, for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.

We think Schumer would be totally down for this. Just a few months ago, she called out The Fashion Spot for posting a “Who Wore It Better” story, putting her up against Jordin Sparks and Fergie in the same Halston Heritage gown. “Or we can stop pitting women against each other,” she responded to the story after casting her vote for both ladies. It wouldn’t surprise us at all if she went through with Lawrence’s plan, considering her attitude towards such comparisons. It would be a big “screw you” to the celebrity red carpet culture and also a good reminder that although we do love seeing our favorite actresses twirl in expensive gowns, awards shows are really about honoring these women for their work, not what they wear.

Needless to say, we’ll be watching the Globes red carpet closely to see if the pair shows up in matching Dior gowns!
