Beyonce's Backup Dancing Twins Talk Fashion—in Paris!

Anyone who’s handpicked by Beyoncé is guaranteed to be cool and Les Twins are no exception. The identical French brothers, also known as Larry and Laurent Bourgeois, are killers in both the dance and fashion departments. Over the past five years, they’ve become regulars at Paris Fashion Week, and today they made their Fall/Winter 2015 debut at Anthony Vaccarrello, dressed in head-to-toe Dior with Donatella Versace sitting in between them. (If that doesn’t scream official, I don’t know what does!) Though the 27-year-olds wowed the crowd with a little pre-show runway moonwalk, they said they would not be trading their spots on Bey’s stage anytime soon. Worth noting is that their fashion sense is right on par with their talent. Laurent wore an on-trend fur side stole and Larry donned jeans and a blazer. And since it’s rare to come across these two fashion characters, no one could stop me from asking them a few questions about Bey and their backward pants. Not even Ms. Donatella Versace.

On what brings them to the Anthony Vaccarello show…For sure not our mom. [Laughs] Even though we do mostly hip-hop, we always like to dress well. Just like people appreciate good food, we appreciate good clothes.

On why their pants are worn backwards…They always are. We always wear suits properly. But regular pants, we wear backwards. To make a long story short, it was a punishment when we were young and we decided to keep wearing them like that.

On if they think Beyoncé would wear pieces from Vaccarello’s FW 2015 collection…I didn’t see anything she wouldn’t wear! Everything was so beautiful.

On how their everyday outfits differ from their on-stage looks…We always get to pick what we’re wearing, but we change our style based off the energy and where we are in the world. But we are not shy; there’s nothing we can’t do. We even wear men’s clothes and women’s clothes.

On whether they’d ever dance down a runway…We never know. But we can’t just do things like that anymore. We used to when we were young. We’re more professional now.

On their favorite thing about fashion week…It’s so amazing to meet people from all over. And it’s great to see and appreciate the French brands and talent.

On what other shows they’ll be sitting front-row at…You’ll see!
