Kiernan Shipka Mocked Britney Spears as a 6-Year-Old
When Kiernan Shipka was six, she booked her role on Mad Men while she was standing in the parking lot at Jimmy Kimmel Live. On Wednesday night, she was back on the talk show host’s set, which she said was “full circle” and yet, she doesn’t even have a driver’s license—so can she really even know what that means? Sure, Sally Draper, her on-screen alter ego, has lived a full life—but a California-bred child star? No. Freaking. Way.
Someone who *has* lived a lot of life (and has the court documents and medicine cabinet to prove it) is Britney Spears (I swear this segue will make sense soon). Back when Shipka was on Jimmy Kimmel as a precious and totally precocious, even littler actress, she played the “Baby One More Time” singer in a satirical segment. At the time, Spears was on a highway to hell, had just shaved her head in the midst of a total mental breakdown, and wasn’t the pop star we know and love (again) SO MUCH today. Being a small child at the time, Shipka didn’t know any better, and mocked the Queen for some cheap yet really hearty laughs on the late night show. Seriously, it’s a riot.
Playing a ballerina in a pink leotard and tutu, Shipka wore a fake pregnant belly while attending Britney Spears dance classes and then proceeded to put on a bald cap and attacked the dance studio with an umbrella. Her acting skills are on point and foreshadow a very successful career. Let’s just hope this joke won’t come back to eventually bite her in the butt, like it would for the vast majority of child stars throughout history. You got this, Kiernan!
