Jaden Smith Wore His Favorite Batman Suit to Prom
Because child stars are special, Jaden Smith did not wear a traditional tuxedo to his prom. He didn’t even wear a dress, which wouldn’t be all that weird for the 16-year-old. Instead, he wore an all-white Batman costume. Proms around the world are banning girls for wearing dresses with cutouts or having too short hemlines, but showing up to the school dance dressed for the Halloween monster mash is, apparently, totally cool.
Smith wearing this costume isn’t even that weird—it’s his go-to black-tie look. He wore the same outfit to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding last summer and, in a more appropriate setting, he also wore it to Comic-Con.
Smith’s style might be considered weird by many, attention-seeking by a lot, but prom, a right of passage for high school students, should be a night to wear whatever you want. Cheers to Smith for marching to the beat of his own drum.
