“I Think You Would Call Me a Feminist,” Kim Kardashian Comes Out in ‘Rolling Stone’

After the release of her book Selfish, Kim Kardashian has been on a crazy press tour, making appearances in unexpected places like NPR’s “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me,” The San Francisco Commonwealth Club, where she was to speak about “the objectification of women in media,” and now, the cover of Rolling Stone.

Photographed by certified creep Terry Richardson (why, Kim, why? You have the power to shut it down!), Kardashian rings in America’s birthday in a too-tight cheap t-shirt bra sailor look while her breasts desperately try to escape their red, white, and blue prison. Thankfully, the highlights from the interview make up for the cover (Kim looks pretty, but she deserves better than this). Kardashian really opens up to writer Vanessa Grigoriadis, talking about her sex tape and her relationship with Paris Hilton (who had her own sex tape scandal), admitting that Hilton did not have any advice for her, “We didn’t really talk about it. I probably would have thought, ‘Oh, my gosh, let me give her advice,’ but we had no communication. Our friendship had fizzled before that.”

Kardashian also admits that the reason her brother Rob is no longer on Keeping Up with the Kardashians is because he gained weight. "He feels uncomfortable being on the show, and that’s OK,” she says before adding, “do I think he smokes weed, drinks beer, hangs out and plays video games with his friends all day long? Yes.” Nothing like a sisterly burn.

But perhaps the most revealing detail comes when the conversation turns to O.J. Simpson. Simpson and his then-wife Nicole Brown Simpson were good friends with the Kardashians – O.J. was often at the Kardashian house, even staying in Khloe’s room for a while, and Kris Jenner and Nicole were best friends. Kris of course, knew that O.J. had done it, just like the rest of the world knew, but Kim chose to believe in her dad. “I definitely took my dad’s side, we just always thought my dad was the smartest person in the world, and he really believed in his friend,” she said. But when Grigoriadis asks her how she feels about it now, Kim says, “It’s weird. I just try not to think about it.” Sometimes it’s easy to forget that underneath their perfect exteriors, the Kardashian family has been through a lot.

We can’t wait to read the rest of the interview! The issue hits newsstands on Friday.
