Christina Aguilera Stuns (& Surprises) at Vanity Fair's Oscar Party

Well Christina Aguilera looked fantastic last night. The Voice co-host doesn’t usually land on best-dressed lists, but last night she wore a surprisingly conservative white gown by Marc Bouwer to Vanity Fair’s post-Oscars bash in Los Angeles. It looked like something Jennifer Lopez might wear, and indeed she channeled Jenny From the Block with a ponytail pulled high atop her head and big hoop earrings.

Not everyone can wear a skin-tight white turtleneck dress—and even fewer can make it look good six months after giving birth (she and fiancé Matthew Rutler welcomed daughter Summer Rain in August). But Aguilera, who works with Miley Cyrus’s stylist Simone Harouche, made it work with minimal makeup (for her) and a handful of Lorraine Schwartz baubles. Harouche posted a close-up of the gown on Instagram, which showed off the number’s sequin detailing over a layer of white mesh. While she didn’t attend the ceremony, Aguilera was right on trend: Marion Cotillard, Julianne Moore, Lady Gaga, and Lupita Nyong’o all wore embellished white dresses to the 2015 Oscars. There were thousands of pearls, matte sequins, beads, and appliques on last night’s red carpet.

Is this the start of a sleeker, more conservative Aguilera? Here’s hoping!
