Carrie Underwood Looks Like a Goddess in Sheer Panel Dress

Bow down to Carrie Underwood.

At the CMT Artists of the Year ceremony on Thursday night, the singer looked like a goddess in a black and gold dress with metallic paisley print from Temraza. But the piece, which at first glance appears to be a mini with sheer panels down the front, actually features a long train with a big bow.

Underwood, who took home the 2016 CMT Artists of the Year trophy, showed even more skin from the back, which was completely exposed except for a black strip running down her spine. During her acceptance speech, the American Idol alum got teary-eyed. “Thank you, Mike, for just being so supportive throughout this tour,” she said. “It’s been so much fun being on the road. It’s definitely hard being away from you. But you’re the best. The people I work with, again, I’m just so blessed. I’m so lucky I have the best people surrounding me and thank God for you guys.”

While dramatic for the red carpet, she removed the extra piece while performing her hit “Like I’ll Never Love You Again” from her Storyteller album.

According to Underwood’s stylist Marina Toybina, she paired the piece with black patterned shoes from René Caovilla and Yvel jewelry, including gold earrings and a matching ring.

The only thing missing from the amazing look? A hat. When the dress went down the runway during Temraza’s Spring 2017 show, the model wore a black and gold flat top hat that was seemingly inspired by the crowns and headdresses worn by ancient Egyptians. The topper would’ve been fitting. Underwood is a goddess after all.
