Alicia Vikander Wears "Unwearable" Louis Vuitton Gown, Looks Amazing at Man From U.N.C.L.E Premiere

For a slick spy movie set during the Cold War, the fashion at last night's New York premiere of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. was almost shockingly modern. With, ahem, one notable exception (looking at you, weirdly half-dressed Hugh Grant), the gents turned out in immaculately accessorized three-piece suits and Windsor knots. Meanwhile, we can only assume the actresses got sick of the mod minidresses while filming, since they opted for quelle dramatique designer gowns — all of which included some rather saucy slits and slashes. Call it cutout couture: We're into it.

Our fave was Swedish actress Alicia Vikander, who gave us our first IRL spotting of a Louis Vuitton Resort 2016 gown, complete with badass, built-in leather harnesses, heavy zipper hardware, and a flash of midriff (albeit one that, Taylor Swift-style, coyly doesn't reveal any belly button). There were rumblings that the dress wasn't very wearable when it debuted, but we think Vikander easily proves otherwise. Who says flowy Valentino is the only way to do "pretty"?
