Jenna Bush Hager and her husband, Henry, have given their second baby girl a name inspired by Jenna’s grandfather former President George H. W. Bush.

Poppy Louise Hager arrived on Thursday, weighing in at 7 pounds 9 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches, it was announced on the Today show Friday morning.

“She is gorgeous and perfect,” enthused Savannah Guthrie.

“Poppy, which is such a cute name, is actually named after her grandfather George Herbert Walker Bush, or, as we call him sometimes, Bush 41. He was called Poppy growing up,” Matt Lauer added.

Guthrie added that the proud parents “Facetimed Grampy — Poppy — to tell him the news, and it got very emotional. [And Jenna said,] ‘And then you can imagine how emotional I was after that.’ [Then Jenna added], ‘When Poppy was growing up in Connecticut, he was known as smart and loyal and humble’ and she says, ‘[Our Poppy] has some big socks to fill.’”

Poppy’s big sister, Mila, was born three weeks early, on April 13, 2013 — after Bush Hager’s water broke at her baby shower.
