Zoo welcomes little flamingo ‘fluffballs’

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Dallas Zoo is celebrating its newest addition to its flock of flamingos which they are referring to as “little fluffballs.”

The first baby was born on March 12, weighing in at 0.1 pounds, and has already doubled in size. The second chick arrived on March 29, “tipping the scales” at a whopping 0.2 pounds.

“The chicks are currently getting all the love and care they need behind the scenes with the rest of the flock before they are ready to explore their pond at the Wilds of Africa,” the zoo said in a social media post.

The zoo welcomed the flamingo chicks for the first time since 2016.
