UPDATE: Woman killed in south Abilene motorcycle crash identified

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A woman killed in a south Abilene motorcycle crash has been identified.

Shanna Bowman, 35, of Abilene, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on S Leggett Street just after midnight Saturday, according to a press release from the Abilene Police Department.

The press release states Bowman was a passenger on a motorcycle that left the roadway while traveling at a high rate of speed. She was ejected upon impact, and the driver was hospitalized with unknown injuries.

Investigators do believe both speed and alcohol contributed to this fatal crash, according to the press release.
